AMONG THE NATION’S BEST REHABILITATION FACILITIES

Each year, major news organizations evaluate the nation’s long-term care and short-term rehabilitation facilities with stringent criteria to help families make informed decisions when caring for their loved ones. United Hebrew in New Rochelle has been ranked among the nation’s best; recognized by “Newsweek” as one of “America’s Best Nursing Homes” and by “U.S. News & World Report” with its highest possible rating, “High Performing,” for both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation.

For families in Westchester and the Hudson Valley, these distinctions reinforce what many know: the New Rochelle senior care community is a top choice.

Rita Mabli, president and CEO of United Hebrew, said, “As our aging demographic grows — with adults aged 65 or older set to comprise over 20% of the total U.S. population — these rankings are more meaningful than ever. They signal our commitment to ensuring that older adults receive the best possible care. We are honored that both Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report have acknowledged the dedication of our entire team to providing a community for better living. Alongside our 5-star Medicare ratings, these distinctions underscore our mission to helping seniors thrive.”

Of the 14,858 nursing homes evaluated by Newsweek, only 1,050 were named as one of “America’s Best.” In New York state, where more than 600 facilities operate, only 69 received the recognition. These rankings, performed by Statista, rely on rigorous performance measures such as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) data based on health inspections, staffing, quality, reputation, accreditation and resident satisfaction scores.

U.S. News & World Report rated more than 15,000 nursing homes throughout the country. U.S. News & World Report assesses facilities with separate evaluations for short-term rehabilitation and long-term care; only 19% of nursing homes in either category achieved a “High Performing” rating. Mabli credits the facility’s well-deserved recognition to its committed staff. She said, “Our team members go above and beyond every day, bringing kindness, compassion, and professionalism to each resident interaction. They are the heart of United Hebrew, and their commitment to excellence is what sets us apart.”

The organization’s reputation is further strengthened by its campus of comprehensive care, which spans assisted living, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation, and independent senior housing. Over the years, United Hebrew has garnered consistent recognitions over the years for its patient-centered care from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the New York State Department of Health. Additionally, Mabli has been recognized locally, regionally and nationally with awards for her visionary leadership in the senior care sector.

Serving Westchester and the surrounding region since 1919, United Hebrew provides award-winning residential and health-care services to over 700 residents of diverse backgrounds and faiths on its vibrant New Rochelle campus.
