SHIFA, Amanat Healthcare sign agreement to provide long-term care services

Manama, Oct. 19 (BNA): Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) and Chairman of the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIFA), attended the signing of a cooperation agreement between SHIFA and Amana Healthcare – Bahrain. The agreement aims to provide long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation services for citizens under the National Health Insurance Programme (SEHATI).

 

The signing was attended by Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, and Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat).

 

Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah underlined the Council’s commitment to supporting initiatives that develop the Kingdom of Bahrain’s healthcare system and enhance the quality and efficiency of specialised services provided to citizens, in line with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aiming to promote sustainable health development.

 

He said that the SCH continues to enhance an integrated health model aligned with global developments, focusing on prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of healthcare services for citizens.

 

Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah said the agreement reflects the Fund’s ongoing commitment to enhancing integrated healthcare services, including long-term and specialised rehabilitative care. He noted that this partnership with Amana Healthcare – Bahrain represents an advanced model of cooperation between the public and private sectors in healthcare, offering citizens safe and comprehensive treatment options within the Kingdom that address patient and family needs while improving quality of life and health sustainability.

 

On her part, the Health Minister said that the agreement embodies the government’s approach to continuously developing and modernising the health system through effective strategic partnerships with the private sector. She added that the Ministry places special focus on expanding services that ensure patient comfort, quality, and safety, supporting sustainable development goals and advancing the concept of comprehensive healthcare.

 

Amana Healthcare – Bahrain is part of the M42 Group in partnership with Mumtalakat. It specialises in providing long-term and post-acute rehabilitation services, drawing on the experience of Amana Healthcare in the United Arab Emirates since 2013. The facility adopts an advanced care model offering specialised and personalised medical services in a home-like environment centred on patient comfort and family support throughout the treatment and recovery process.
